New Associate Posting in Atlanta

We just learned of a fantastic position with a leading New York-based real estate investment bank with a strong Atlanta office that assists its clients in the recapitalization of investment grade real estate properties. Responsibilities include analysis of properties using Argus and Excel, review and analyses of leases, historical property financials, and market information, response to RFPs and preparation of offering memoranda, and tracking of due diligence through closing. The Associate will interact significantly with third-party providers including property managers, leasing agents, lenders, and appraisers as well as participate in client meetings.

New Analyst Posting

We just received a call from a leading national real estate brokerage firm who is looking to hire a new analyst. The person must have 1-2 years of related experience and be very strong in Argus. What was interesting about this call is that the firm does not want to hire somebody with more than 2 years of experience! From their perspective, they want to be able to mold a new hire to conform to their corporate culture and they don’t want the risk of the person leaving the company as soon as the market firms up.

Although this is a very tough market for people with limited professional experience, this is a fantastic opportunity. The challenge is that the market has been so soft over the past 12-18 months that it might be difficult to find qualified candidates with strong Argus skills but only 1-2 years removed from undergrad.
